GROUP STRENGTH CLASSES

Our infamous GROUP STRENGTH CLASSES are the most popular way to train here at Thorpe Performance.

Choose from two membership options and gain access to coach-led classes six days a week. Read below to see how each class may vary in style, but all are built from the same foundation:

STRENGTH TRAINING

 

QUADRANT

QUADRANT is our signature class.

Here, the remit is

FITTER, FASTER, STRONGER.
 Our QUADRANT circuit is a super efficient, meticulously designed method to help you become a stronger, leaner, fitter and more powerful version of you.
Using bars, dumbbells and your own body weight, you will follow a week by week progressive model, meaning that in this session you will ALWAYS be moving forward. This is a great entry level session for anyone new to Thorpe Performance.

BEGINNER - ADVANCED (SCALABLE)

TECHNICALITY

LOW

HIIT-STRONG

The key is in the name with our HIIT-STRONG class. Expect a 60 minute HIGH INTENSITY

workout underpinned by STRENGTH TRAINING.
This is a full body session using a variety of kit to build a body as strong and fit as it looks. Expect intervals, AMRAPs, timers and sweat, of course!

Be ready to blast it on our Ski-Erg, sprint on our Assault Bike and suffer a burpee (or two)!

HYBRID

A super popular hour of power!

It's called HYBRID for a reason: this session borrows from all corners of fitness. You'll find elements of traditional strength and conditioning, bodyweight exercises influenced by gymnastics and calisthenics, and even some old school body building. The intensity is high; both in terms of heart rate and the sheer amount of work covered in the hour!

HIIT45

Our HIIT45 class is quite simply 45 minutes of WORK.

HEAD DOWN, GET IT DONE.

With 45 minutes on the clock and the mission set on the blackboard, you might set a PB, get a new time or quite simply aim to make it through! You'll either tackle the session 'lone wolf' or work in a team.

Either way, expect 45 minutes of sweet solid SWEAT and heart rate raising GRAFT.

BEGINNER - ADVANCED (SCALABLE)

TECHNICALITY

LOW - MODERATE

BARBELL centres around STRENGTH development and CONDITIONING. These aren’t any old sessions slung together. You will learn proper technique and develop an appetite for high quality training that is appropriately tough yet empowering.
These sessions are somewhat minimalistic in nature - maybe even basic - but basic works! The hour is built around the fundamental movement patterns of a SQUAT, DEADLIFT (hip hinge), SINGLE LEG STRENGTH and UPPER BODY

PUSHING / PULLING.

BEGINNER - ADVANCED

TECHNICALITY

SCALABLE TO THE INDIVIDUAL

STRONG

This hour and a half session is STRONG is name, STRONG in nature; so much so that your coaches might jump in the trenches with you! This is the heaviest session of the week, in which the loads and/or volumes are incrementally progressed week on week. Think lifting, carrying, tyre flipping and heavy prowler pushing. This is a BIG session. Open to 12 CLASS PASS or MEMBERSHIP holders only.

INTRODUCTORY

Want to become a member? Before you jump into our Group Strength Programme, we highly recommend that you join us for six weeks of lifting technique classes and nutrition workshops to provide you with the foundation of knowledge that will underpin your training at Thorpe Performance thereafter. Classes will take place once a week for an hour and a half. Weeks 1 - 3 will have a training focus, and weeks 4 - 6 will have allocated time set aside to run you through our nutrition ethos and guidance.

ONE-TO-ONE PERSONAL TRAINING

It's through one-to-one PERSONAL TRAINING that our coaches really hone in on your individual goals and programme your training accordingly. SMALL GROUP TRAINING

Training as part of a small group of people you know, trust and feel motivated by can be hugely beneficial. You may wish to train with your partner, a group of friends or get the whole family exercising. This option offers the perfect marriage of training as part of a team, but with closer to the contact time and support of a personal training session at a significantly reduced cost.
